Almost every female entrepreneur who knocks on my door starts the conversation with the same sentence: 'I post so much, but too little happens.' They think they need more visibility. More Reels, more carousels, more emails. But in nine out of ten cases, the problem isn't the quantity. It's the recognizability.
A visibility problem says: nobody sees me. A brand problem says: they see me, but they don't remember me. That is a completely different diagnosis, and it requires a completely different solution. Yelling louder doesn't help if the message isn't right yet.
How do you recognize the difference?
Ask yourself three honest questions. One: if someone puts three of your posts side by side without your name on them, would that person know they are yours? Two: can your best clients explain in one sentence what makes you different? Three: do you still feel something yourself when you look at your own feed, or do you post mostly because you 'have to'?
Three times no usually means the same thing. Your expertise is fine, your work ethic is fine, but your brand isn't doing its job. And that's good news, because you can build a brand. You can't build algorithm luck.
What a brand DOES do
- It ensures the right people recognize you, even among a hundred other accounts.
- It makes your content coherent instead of being separate posts.
- It filters automatically: wrong matches drop off, right matches feel seen.
- It takes some of the 'convincing' out of your sales. Your brand does that for you already.
"The strongest brands are not the loudest. They are the most recognizable."
What you can do today
Before you open a new content calendar: take a blank sheet of paper. Write down three words you think your brand should evoke in someone who has just discovered you. Then compare those words with your last ten posts. Does it match? Great. Does it not match? Then you know where the friction is — and you have something concrete to work on before you record another new Reel.
Because visibility without recognizability is just noise. And you forget noise immediately.
